Dubi Nanda Dhakal

Dr. Dubi Nanda Dhakal is an Associate Professor at the Central Department of Linguistics of Tribhuvan University. He works at the main campus in Kirtipur, in Kathmandu. Dr. Dhakal has previously worked on Darai, Rana Tharu, and Majhi, and is involved in ongoing investigations into languages of Manang district (working with Dr. Kristine Hildebrandt), including Gyalsumdo, Manang and Gurung.

He is the author of Darai Grammar (2012), and Darai Texts (2013), published by Lincom Europa. He is one of the co-authors of the main publications of ELDP-funded Linguistic and Ethnographic Documentation of the Baram Language project including A Grammar of Baram (2011), A Baram- Nepali-English Dictionary (2011), An Ethnographic Sketch of the Baram People (2010, in Nepali) published by Central Department of Linguistics and LEDBL Project. His interests include morphology, language documentation, language typology, language contact and field research.

Additional work by Dr. Dhakal has appeared in the newspapers E-Kantipur and Kathmandu Post.
